HOW TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER.


Assuming that you know the basics of photography:
  • The Camera
  • Digital Camera
  • The Lens
  • Exposure
    Assuming that you take great pictures and would like to advance to the professional level, here are a few suggestions.
         Become a member at a Photography Club, you will meet people who share your interest in photography, members will include advanced Armature and Professional Photographers capable of critiquing your work bringing strengths and weaknesses to your attention.

Read all you can on:
  • Digital Imaging
  • Lighting
  • Composition
  • The art of seeing
and any subject that will improve the quality of your images.

Enter some of the many Photography Contests that are held each year, it is good exposure if your work gets published and you could win a cash prize  or a new Camera

Get a job as an  assistant to a Professional Photographer, you will gain experience in the field as you set_up equipment for each assignment, observe, listen and learn.
DO ALL OF THE ABOVE OR:

Get a Formal Education at one of the many colleges offering Degree Programs in Photography, some Colleges offer an internship at a magazine or Newspaper you will gain valuable experience and it will look great on your resume. In my search I found the following Degree Programs:

  • Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) in Photography
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Photography
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Photography

  • Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography
